The Mother City is one of the most beautiful and diverse destinations in the world, but choosing where to stay in Cape Town can feel overwhelming. Each neighbourhood offers a completely different experience, and it’s important to pick the right one based on your travel style and priorities.

However, while it’s a safe and central choice, it’s also very touristy, and you won’t get a strong sense of local culture. If you prefer a more authentic Cape Town experience, you may want to look at nearby De Waterkant or Green Point instead.

Busy, lively, and very much designed for tourists. Expect a polished, commercial feel with international brands, street performers, and a mix of locals and visitors.
